Things to Do in Wildwood Crest

Wildwood Crest Events

Wildwoods Spring Fling Festival

When: May 11th, 11 am to 7 pm

Where: Byrne Plaza

Details: This is the perfect event for families, as it is free, and will be a day full of music, food, craft vendors, a beer garden, and fun activities.

Captain Kidd Pirate Day

When: May 18th, 2024 at 10 am

Where: 26th Avenue & the Boardwalk

Details: Show up in your best pirate costume, if you are 12 and under, for some pirate fun! Registration begins at 10 am, followed by a costume competition at 10:45. At 11 am, there is a free pirate parade followed by a treasure hunt on the beach at 20th Ave. ARRRR you ready? Aye Aye Captain!

Unlocking of the Ocean Ceremony

When: May 24th, 2024 at noon.

Where: Beach next to the Wildwoods Convention Center

Details: Summer doesn’t officially start until the ocean is unlocked! This free event will include a large key to “unlock” the city, along with some great guest speakers, getting this season off to a bang!

Wildwood International Kite Festival 

When: May 24th to May 27th, 2024

Where: Beach at Rio Grande Avenue Wildwood, NJ, 08260 & Wildwood Convention Center 

Details: Experience the wonders of the 38th annual Wildwood International Kite Festival. This four-day FREE event is perfect for the whole family! Friday at noon will kick off the weekend with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center, followed by a Friday Night Social and Illuminated Night Kite Fly. Saturday and Sunday are full of flying large inflatable kites, team flying, and family games. Plus, Saturday is full of auctions. Monday features the World Indoor Kite Exhibition inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Summer Kick-Off Concert

When: May 26th, 2024 at 7 pm

Where: Centennial Park

Details: Experience “Big House” playing dance and party music, as well as some alternative hits. This concert is free and the perfect way to kick off the summer. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair or a beach towel to relax while you listen to some tunes!

Memorial Day Ceremony #1

When: 10 am on May 27th, 2024

Where: North Wildwood Veterans Monument

Details: Pay respects to military members who have passed on, with a Memorial Day ceremony. This is a free event to attend.

Memorial Day Ceremony #2

When: 11 am on May 27th, 2024

Where: The front lawn of American Legion Post 184

Details: Honor the nation’s fallen heroes at the annual Memorial Day ceremony

Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market 

When: Every Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 2024

Where: Spread across both sides of Pacific Avenue in Byrne Plaza at Oak Avenue and located at Schellenger Avenue

Details: Every Saturday morning in the summer, enjoy a variety of homemade goods at the Wildwood Farmers Market! From pickles and dog treats to soap, candles, and jewelry, there is sure to be something that catches your eye. Each week features over 60 vendors and parking nearby is free. 

Boardwalk Craft Show

When: May 25 & 26 (Memorial Day), June 22 & 23 (Barefoot Music Festival), July 5, 6 & 7 (July Fourth Weekend), July 13 & 14 (Jeep Beach Invasion), July 20 & 21(Bronco Invasion), August 3 & 4, (Open Weekend), August 10 & 11 (Baseball on the Beach) and August 31 & September 1 (Labor Day Weekend).

Where: Wildwood Boardwalk

Details: Throughout the summer, attend the Boardwalk Craft Show at a variety of places for some fun! Rain or shine, you will be immersed in a variety of gifts and other hand-made, boutique, and artisan items for loved ones. This is a free event from 9 am to 5 pm on select Saturdays and Sundays in 2024, with parking available nearby.

American Flag Day Ceremony

When: June 14th, 2024 at 10 am

Where: Veteran’s Monument

Details: Free to attend, experience the ceremonial raising of the American Flag at the Veteran’s Monument located at Spruce and New York Avenues. In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

Create in the Crest Art Festival

When: June 15th, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm

Where: Centennial Park

Details: Check out artists of multiple media, entrepreneurs, photographers, musicians, and other creators demonstrating, teaching, and selling their art from 9 am to 1 pm on June 15th, 2024, at the Create in the Crest Art Festival. This is a free event and perfect for the whole family.

National Marbles Tournament

When: 8 am to noon on June 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2024

Where: Ringer Stadium

Details: Celebrate 101 years of marble tournaments, by watching 8-14-year-olds from all over the United States compete in the marble tournaments. More than 1,200 games of marbles will be played over this 4-day event that is free to spectators.

Music in the Plaza

When: Every Thursday from June 20th to August 29th, 2024 from 7:30 to 9 pm

Where: Bryne Plaza

Details: Enjoy free music at Bryne Plaza every Thursday from June 20th to August 29th. Different performances will occur each week from 7:30 to 9 pm. Bring something to sit on like a chair or a blanket, or dancing shoes if that is more your style. There is free parking nearby! Don’t forget to come early and enjoy dinner, drinks, and dessert before the show. See the lists of bands.

Barefoot Country Music Fest 

When: June 20th to June 23rd, 2024

Where: 3601 Boardwalk, Wildwood, NJ 08260, on the beach between the two Morey’s Piers. 

Details: Join Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Keith Urban, Old Dominion, Bailey Zimmerman, and 40 other country artists during the Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, NJ. This weekend full of sun, music, and food is one you will not want to miss, so grab your friends and have some fun on the beach. Five stages will highlight everything from upcoming artists to headliners and everything in between!

Movies in the Plaza

When: Every Tuesday from June 25th, 2024 to August 20th, 2024

Where: Bryne Plaza

Details: Bring on the whole family! Each Tuesday night of the summer, starting June 25th, there is a FREE movie at Bryne Plaza. Bring a blanket or beach chair to watch the screen and the stars! The movie begins around sunset and is unique yet family-friendly each week. There is free parking nearby. Grab a bite to eat in the area before the sun sets and the movie begins. Mid-Atlantic Yacht Racing Association – Youth

When: June 27th, 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm

Where: The Greater Wildwood Yacht Club and across Sunset Lake

Details: Free to watch, over 100 sailors aged 9-18 will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Yacht Race in a variety of categories. It will be lots of fun to see all the sailors out on the water for 4 hours.

Friday Night Fireworks

When: Friday nights from June 28th to August 30th, 2024 at 10 pm.

Where: Wildwoods Boardwalk

Details: Every Friday night from June 28th to August 30th, 2024 at 10 pm there’s a firework show at the Wildwoods Boardwalk. The fireworks are launched with synchronized music played over the sound system. Before the show, be sure to hang out at the amusement park and get a bite to eat!

Fourth of July Fireworks Show 

When: 4th of July, 2024 at 10 pm. (Rain date is Friday, July 5th at 10 pm.)

Where: Beach at Pine Avenue 

Details: Celebrate Independence Day this year with an evening trip to the Wildwood Boardwalk! This beautiful display will be synchronized to music; patriotic music to get you into the spirit! Before the show, be sure to check out other fun things to do nearby, such as taking a ride in an amusement park or trying some delicious food and drinks!

Christmas in July with Santa Claus 

When: July 20th, 2024. Santa’s time stops & locations will be posted on the morning of the event.

Where: North Wildwood Beach 

Details: Celebrate the Christmas season in the middle of summer. Your friends and family can spend all day on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, having fun in the sun. The North Wildwood Beach Patrol hosts this event for the community. Santa Claus will make an appearance and there will be plenty of music, singing, & dancing; just like at the North Pole. This family-friendly event is free! Enjoy a free candy cane from Santa and show him your festive beach towel.

Christmas in July Festival and Boat Parade

When: July 20th, 2024 at 6 pm

Where: Sunset Lake near Atlanta Avenue and New Jersey Avenue

Details: Celebrate Christmas in the summer at the Wildwood Christmas in July Festival and Boat Parade. It is a family-friendly event with holiday music, food, activities, a boat parade, and free photos with Santa Claus.

National Lighthouse Day 

When: August 7th, 2024

Where: Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, 111 North Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 

Details: Come celebrate the 235th anniversary of the signing of the 1789 Lighthouse Act; also known as National Lighthouse Day! Visit the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse from 9 am to 5 pm, which is free of charge to all guests, to learn more about the most important historic structure on Five Mile Beach. Standing since 1874, this lighthouse is an active navigational aid that the United States Coast Guard maintains.

North Wildwood Flea Market 

When: August 11th, 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm 

Where: Along JFK Blvd from 2nd to 13th Avenues in North Wildwood 

Details: Who does not love a little bit of shopping? Especially perusing through a flea market! Stroll along JFK Blvd from 2nd Ave to 13th Ave, and something may catch your eye. This is a fantastic way to spend the day out in the sun with the whole family. After you have picked up a goody, or two, make your way to the nearby beach and cool off in the water.

The Wildwoods Food and Music Festival

When: September 7th, 2024

Where: Byrne Plaza along Pacific Avenue between Oak and Schellenger Avenues

Details: This free event, previously known as the Seafood and Music Festival, is a day packed full of delicious food options and live music. Don’t forget to shop at the local craft vendors!

Wildwood Crest Firefighters’ Craft Show

When: September 13th, 2024 from 9 am to 5 pm and September 14th, 2024 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Where: Along Sunrise Park at Rambler Road and Ocean Avenue

Details: This free event is full of craft vendors selling unique items from food and home goods! Make sure you pick up a souvenir to commemorate your trip!

Irish Fall Festival

When: September 20th through September 22nd, 2024, 8 am to 8 pm each day

Where: Olde New Jersey Avenue (and surrounding pubs)

Details: This is the largest Irish Festival on the East Coast celebrating Irish heritage. Come out and enjoy music, craft vendors, food, and od course drinks. You won’t want to miss out!

Olde Time Italian Festival 

When: September 27th from 5 to 11 pm and September 28th, 2024, from noon to 11 pm 

Where: Fox Park on Ocean Avenue between Burk and Montgomery Avenues 

Details: Regardless of if you have Italian ancestors, or just like Italian food, you are welcome to spend Friday and Saturday celebrating Italian culture. In addition to the food, this event has free admission and is perfect for the family as there are games and live entertainment!

Hispanic Heritage Celebration

When: September 28th, 2024

Where: Bryne Plaza

Details: From 3 pm to 8 pm on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 celebrate Hispanic heritage during this second annual event. Enjoy food and music for free! It is always a great time to celebrate different cultures.
